Meet the Women in GovTech 2016

Exclusive special report: inspiring stories from Asia Pacific.

This is the second Women in GovTech Report that we have run, and it's a little different from last year. When we started this, we wanted to show inspiring profiles of people doing great things in government. But there are so many cases that we have changed focus for this year. Rather than discussing the challenges that our interviewees have overcome, or advice for others, we're looking at what they're doing to improve citizens' lives. In short: the fact that our interviewees are all women is less important than the fact that they are all extraordinary. Everyone profiled has used technology to make government better, faster, easier to use or more inclusive. Another new theme for this year is that we cut across public and private sectors. Many projects are outsourced, so we have profiled a mix of different roles - from coders to MDs - who herald from govtech startups and multinational suppliers. There are, as with last year, some lighter questions too. Many of our interviewees have told us their heroes, and all have given us advice on where to get a good meal in their home town. So we're sure that there is, ahem, plenty of food for thought in this year's roundup. Bon appetit!
